Making Room for a Different Kind of Energy

Oct 18, 2026

As autumn settles in, you may notice that the energy you had in summer feels harder to access. Your motivation may shift, your routines may feel different, or the things that once felt easy may require a little more effort.

It can be tempting to respond by pushing harder. We tell ourselves we should be just as productive, just as social, and just as motivated as we were a few months ago. But what if the goal isn't to maintain the same energy all year long?

Different seasons can call for different rhythms.

Just as nature moves through periods of growth, harvest, and rest, we experience seasons that ask different things of us, too. Sometimes we're ready to take on new challenges and fill our calendars. Other times, we may need more quiet, more margin, or more time to recharge.

Making room for a different kind of energy doesn't mean giving up on your goals. It means learning to pursue them in ways that honor the capacity you actually have right now.

That might look like simplifying a routine, choosing fewer commitments, breaking a large task into smaller steps, or allowing rest to be part of your plan rather than something you have to earn.

A gentle check-in for this season:

  • Notice: What feels different about my energy lately?
  • Reevaluate: Am I holding myself to expectations that no longer fit my current capacity?
  • Adjust: What is one thing I could simplify, postpone, or approach differently?
  • Make room: What would help me feel more supported during this season?

You don't have to do everything at the same pace to keep moving forward. Sometimes growth looks like reaching for something new. Sometimes it looks like tending to what is already here.

You are allowed to change your pace without changing your worth.
