From Crisis to Curiosity: A Short, Supportive Exercise

Nov 04, 2026

Here's a quick exercise for moments when life feels like it's unraveling.

 1. Name what is happening.

What specifically feels wrong, uncertain, or overwhelming?

2. Separate discomfort from danger.

Is there an immediate safety concern requiring urgent intervention, or am I experiencing distress about a difficult circumstance or uncertainty?

3. Identify what the feeling might be communicating.

What need, value, expectation, or circumstance deserves my attention?

4. Consider what is within my control.

What is one thing I could change, communicate, reconsider, or approach differently?

5. Choose one intentional next step.

I don't have to solve everything today. What's one small step toward a better outcome?
